About COFIR: Who We Are

The Coalition Organized for the future of  Insurance Regulation (COFIR)  a fast-growing coalition of insurance companies and trade associations who strongly believe that the state-based insurance regulatory structure is the best, most rigorous system to ensure companies remain healthy and consumers protected.  COFIR believes the creation of  dual system of regulation creates opportunities for insurance companies to "regulator shop" seeking the most permissive regulator.  This concept is opposed by the National Association of Attorneys General and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

COFIR’s membership is made up of Companies, Organizations, Agents and Brokers representing Life, Health, Property and Casualty, Mutual Insurance companies and trade associations. This includes over 1400 companies and 300,000 agents and brokers nationwide.
